One hundred and twenty creatives in one room, for two days. I was surrounded by calligraphers, event coordinators, photographers, bloggers, and all kinds of creative entrepreneurs from all across the country. We listened to established business owners in our industry talk about their trials and successes. We dreamed of where our businesses could go. We admired others for their accomplishments and thought about how we could learn from them.
My experience at the Creative at Heart Conference at the Warwick Hotel in Denver was even better than I had imagined. For the past two years, I would look at their Instagram, FB and website and dream about going. I wanted to meet the speakers, get the “swag bags” and bond with others in my field. So this past January, I set goals for 2016. One of them was to attend the Creative at Heart Conference. When the locations were announced, I instantly knew I would attend the July conference in Denver, CO. After photographing a wedding their last July, I instantly couldn’t wait to return to the beautiful city.
Although my time at the conference was only two short days, what I learned will spread much further than that. I went into the conference a little nervous at where I would be compared to others and if I would feel insecure being around all of the incredibly successful photographers. However, I left feeling more confident than ever that I have what it takes to continue growing my business. I left feeling like I gained pieces to the puzzle that will help me get to where I want to be. I am so excited to continue this journey of Ebby L Photography and to impact the lives of others around me while doing so. So for those of you reading, look out for changes to come!
Thank you Alicia Lacey Photography for the head shots!
Photo booth fun with my roomie, Stefani Huey of Nuanced Design: A Modern Wedding Studio and my favorites from Showit! If you’re in need of a new website, they’ve got you covered. I cannot wait to attend Showit United this November and hang out with these lovely ladies again.
