Friday Feels

Happy Friday, friends! This morning I went on a long walk with Fluff and then headed to Aroma to get some work done. In case you aren’t sure who Fluff is, she’s our new pup and was featured on last week’s Friday Feels blog.  A little update with her… she currently looks like a naked mole rat. Due to the neglect she suffered before we adopted her, the groomer recommended we start from scratch with her coat.  Her face is still fluffy and cute as can be though! Photos of her to come soon… I figured I’d give her a couple of days to adjust before exposing her to social media. Hah! Anyways, without further ado.. here’s this week’s Friday Feels.

Court Kap Art.

One day while browsing Facebook, I saw that a friend had shared artwork from Court Kap Art. It was the cutest painting of a golden retriever wearing a bow tie and it just melted me.  As soon as I looked further into her artwork, I knew that I wanted to have her paint our dog, Bear.  I surprised John with his painting this week and there were no words for how much it meant to him.  Courtney Kap is an incredible artist and it’s finds like these that make me love the Facebook community.

Sister.

This week, my little sister Audrey came to stay for a couple of days. It’s always funny how things like laying on the couch or getting breakfast sandwiches from Aroma are so much better with someone special to you.  While she was here, we didn’t do much of anything at all but that was all we wanted. We just simply spent time together.  Audrey lives in Kentucky and attends the University of Kentucky so we aren’t able to see each other as much as we’d like. However, we make up for that by constantly Facetiming about nothingness and sending each other funny things online.  I loved having her here for a couple of days though and already can’t wait to see her again!

Grandparents Dancing.

Okay, grandparents dancing may be my ultimate weak spot at a wedding. This adorable couple had been together for SIXTY AND A HALF YEARS.  Not only had they been together for more than double my years, they still managed to swing around and dance better than I can. Once they were the last ones on the dance floor at the end of the anniversary dance, the DJ asked them for marriage advice.  The groom’s grandpa said to the crowd, “a happy wife is a happy life”.  I could tear up just thinking about how adorable it was.  I’ll admit it made me feel mushy (like many moments at a wedding) and had me dreaming of myself as a grandmother one day. One can only hope to be those grandparents winning anniversary dances at weddings. <3
