Ladies Trip To Colorado

Where do I even begin?! Last week two of my best friends and I went on a little mini vacation to Denver, Colorado.  As some of you may know, my main reason for the trip was the Creative at Heart Conference (blog post to come soon!).  But because of my love for Colorado, I really wanted to go a couple of days early and explore! Maddie and Nicole joined in on the trip and we had an absolute blast.  Our trip began with a delayed flight and a very deliriously tired group of three girls.

When we arrived in Denver, our Air BnB wasn’t exactly what we had expected.  Rather than the two rooms we thought were in the house, there were five rented “bedrooms” one being in the front living room. Arriving around 3am, we opened the front door to find a girl sleeping right where we walked in.  In addition to the surprise of five rented rooms sharing one small bathroom, there was also no air conditioning! Although the conditions were not ideal, we all just went with it and chalked it up to an experience!

We started our first morning in Denver at Bacon Social House.  In need of coffee,  we all sat down and enjoyed an absolutely delicious brunch there. For those of you who don’t know, brunch is my absolute favorite… especially on vacation when bloody marys are involved! After brunch, we spent the rest of the day exploring the Highlands area of Denver and then later downtown.

After a day of eating and drinking, we decided our second day would be spent hiking.  We began our day at Prosperoats and had delicious breakfast bowls to fuel up for our adventures. Once we finished eating, we headed to Red Rocks where we hiked and explored all afternoon. It was absolutely beautiful!!

Succeeding two days with the ladies, I headed to the Warwick Denver for my Creative at Heart Conference.  I roomed with Stephanie, of Nuanced Design, a modern wedding studio.  We had a lovely time getting to know each other I truly enjoyed my time spent with her. She suggested we have dinner at Park and Co after the conference one day and it was delightful.  Their truffle fries were out of this world (lame expression I know but the only way I could describe them). stephanie huey

My last day in Denver I met back up with Nicole and Maddie and spent the day exploring the city. For lunch, enjoyed delicious appetizers at Yard House. We shopped for souvenirs for our friends & family at 16th Street Mall. Later, we explored the nightlife in Highlands at Avanti, Forest Room 5 and Williams & Graham.  Williams & Graham was a speak easy style bar and the only way to enter it was through a secret bookshelf door. How cool right?! Overall, I had an amazing time in Colorado and am already looking forward to the next time I am able to get back there.
