Downtown Chicago Engagement Session, Dan & Brooke, Chicago IL
It was a rainy weekday evening. Brooke was on her way home while Dan was frantically trying to find a way to stall her. He had the ring and knew that it was the day he was going to ask Brooke to marry him. While driving home, Brooke received a call from Dan asking her to pick up a bottle of wine. Her instant thought was really????… in this weather! But despite her hesitance, she stopped to pick up a bottle which gave Dan a little more time to spare.
Dan sprinkled roses all around their place and paired them with romantic candles throughout. When talking about how he proposed, he laughed and mentioned what a pain having so many candles to light was… especially when they started to go out while lighting them! Regardless of how much of a pain Dan felt the candles were, Brooke came into their home to find the most romantic surprise in front of her. With the scene he had created and the ring they designed together in hand, Dan asked Brooke to marry him.
I loved hearing Dan and Brooke recall his proposal at their session this past weekend. I also adored how much I could see their relationship shine through in their photographs. Dan is the chatty, outgoing one and Brooke is his sweet counterpart. For their engagement session, we bopped around some of their favorite areas in the city and made sure to incorporate lots of that Chicago skylight. Dan and Brooke tie the knot this October and I already can’t wait for their day!
