Favorite Chicago Engagement Photo Locations

Favorite Chicago Engagement Photo Locations

Great engagement photos aren’t just about the location—they’re about the little moments, the laughter, and the love between you and your person. But let’s be honest, a stunning backdrop never hurts! Here are my favorite Chicago spots to frame those perfect moments:

1. North Avenue Beach & Lookout

If you’re engaged and have brainstormed location ideas, I can guarantee you’ve come across photos at North Ave. Well, that’s because it is truly an iconic view of the city! I’ve had couples ask me at a session, “do you ever get sick of taking photos here?!” to which I always respond, “I mean, do you see it?! Of course not!”.

2. The Wrigley Building

Classic Chicago elegance. The Wrigley Building gives you the beautiful Chicago Architecture, the stunning Chicago river and skyline around it.

3. Humboldt Park

If you’re looking for a quieter, nature based location; Humboldt Park is the place for you. Lush nature, cute walking paths, anddddd a boathouse make this a perfect spot for intimate, nature-filled photos.

4. Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park especially in the fall is hard to beat! I love that LP gives you the ability to have a nature based session with the option to incorporate that beautiful Chicago skyline in the distance.

5. Adler Planetarium

As I approach location number 5, I am overwhelmed with my “I love Chicago” brain thoughts. Well, the Adler Planetarium gives you yet another stunning view of the lake/skyline/sunset.

6. Lurie Garden

A hidden gem in Millennium Park with dreamy flowers and pathways for a soft, romantic feel. I like to call this location the ‘Bridgerton’ of the city.

7. Downtown Streets & Bridges

Here I go again inserting my “I love Chicago!” brain thoughts. If you feel this way, downtown Chicago photos are a must. Bustling city energy meets intimate moments—walking down Michigan Ave, sharing a quiet moment on a bridge, or stealing a kiss in the street.

It’s About the Moments… But the Backdrop Helps

At the end of the day, your engagement photos should reflect your love, your personalities, and your connection. The best pictures aren’t just about standing in front of a pretty place; they’re about the way you interact, the joyful smiles, the little moments, and occasionally the awkward laughter between poses. But hey, a stunning Chicago backdrop? We’ll take it!!

This blog is a handful of my favorite ‘iconic’ Chicago spots but it’s important to note that your engagement session is YOURS. Think of the location that speaks to you…hey, maybe that’s the local hole in-the-wall bar in your neighborhood. And remember, while the location is important, the experience and the memories with your partner are at the forefront!
