Cole and Amanda probably have one of the cutest engagement stories I have ever heard. Since he was 12 years old, Cole has known how he was going to propose he just didn’t know who he was going to be proposing to. Cole is an avid scuba diver and decided that when he proposed it would be while scuba diving. So junior high and high school go by and Cole graduates from Mahomet-Seymour (Cole & I were in the same class) and he heads to Carbondale to Southern Illinois University. While in a cadaver lab, he meets Amanda and knows that she could potentially be the one. After almost a year of dating, Cole gives Amanda a necklace with a key on it which at the time he says is, “the key to his heart”. Fast forward a little while to when Cole and Amanda are vacationing and go scuba diving together for the first time. Amanda is nervous and overwhelmed as it’s her first time scuba diving! They spend their time under water exploring the corals and treasures that are surrounding them. At one point, Cole points to this little treasure chest and keeps trying to get Amanda’s attention. Amanda briefly takes a look at the chest and then continues exploring throughout the water. When they come up to the surface, Cole is holding the chest and instantly Amanda freaks out as you can get arrested for taking any of the pieces from below. Cole asks her to open the box as she continues to tell him to throw it back in the water. Eventually Cole tells her she has the key to open the box and to please try it for him. When she finally opens the box, there is a ring inside. Cole gets down on one knee and asks her the way he’s envisioned asking his dream girl since he was 12 years old.
