Chris and Caitlin were married on June 11th, 2016 at Crestwicke Country Club in Bloomington, IL. These two love birds met at Illinois State University and from that point on they were inseparable. They share the same interests, sense of humor and love for their puppy Brinley. Chris is constantly making Caitlin laugh and the love they have for each other is obvious to everyone who knows them.
Chris and Caitlin’s entire day was located at Crestwicke Country Club. The groomsmen wore three piece tan suits with a pop of pink with their ties. The bridesmaids matched the gentlemen perfectly with their pink dresses. The detailing of their dresses was some of my favorite. The top of each dress was decorated with a floral embroidery. Caitlin chose a wedding gown with beautiful lace embroidery as well and paired it with a cathedral veil. Her veil was to die for! I think I could have photographed her and her veil for hours if given the opportunity. She looked amazing!
Their wedding ceremony was held under a romantic gazebo outside at Crestwicke. During their ceremony, their preacher shared his personal insight of marriage, Caitlin’s mother sang a beautiful song and Chris and Caitlin symbolized their promise to each other with a sand ceremony. Rather than pouring sand into a vase, they chose to pour sand into a frame with one of their favorite photos inside it. I loved this idea and thought it was a wonderful way to incorporate their wedding promises into their home decor.
After the ceremony, the bridal party and the officially married couple took photos together on the golf course. The bridal party was so cooperative and fun especially given the 100 degree heat. The bridesmaids had a big laugh attempting to pick up Chris for a photo….he, however, wasn’t too sure about the experience! Once we were finished with the bridal party, we let them go inside and join the cocktail hour and just had Chris and Caitlin outside with us. Chris and Caitlin are such lovers! Despite the heat, these two couldn’t stop kissing, hugging and loving on each other. It was so sweet and such an amazing thing to witness (it’s safe to say I’m in love with my job!).
Every detail of their reception matched Caitlin’s “rustic” theme perfectly. The cake was simple yet beautiful and I loved all of the burlap accents. It was obvious that everyone at the reception had a blast. They had so many outgoing friends and had no problem getting the party started. Chris and Caitlin had everyone laughing when they played the Shoe Game, especially when it came to questions like, “who’s the most stubborn out of the two of you” or “who talked about marriage first”. As I did at Caitlin’s sister Christa’s wedding, I couldn’t help but tear up when I saw her grandparents win the anniversary dance once again. Sixty-six years of marriage…. sixty-six years of marriage… how ABSOLUTELY AMAZING is that?! Caitlin’s grandparents and their incredible marriage was such a great model to look at when entering her marriage with Chris. I know that they have just as many years ahead of them and I am so happy to have been a part of day one of their official life together.
