One of my favorite things about my job is the ability to tell a couple’s story through images. In my first interaction with a bride or groom, I always ask them to tell the story of how they met and how he proposed. I love hearing the funny “didn’t go quite as he had planned” engagements or the “I nervously added him on Facebook and hoped he didn’t think I was creepy” stories. I am also a huge sucker for romantic gestures and the just “felt right” moments. Well, I’m really just in love with love in general.
After photographing Adam & Lindsey’s engagement photos on Saturday, I sent her a couple of sneak peeks because I knew how excited she was for them. Lindsey posted an image from their session that day and rather than tell their story from my perspective, I wanted to share with you her caption.
“There was a day in late May of last year that I told my best friend & 3 of my cousins that I talk with every day, that Adam was the one for me. Signed, sealed, delivered, I didn’t tell anyone else! I was hardly 21 & felt so young but my life has always been a very simple one, so it was not hard to realize when I had found what I was looking for. I knew I had a lot of love to give to somebody who appreciated the simple pleasures in life such as cooking your favorite breakfast together on Sunday mornings.. Someone who loves vacations but believes there’s no place like this small Illinois hometown I was lucky enough to grow up in.. and someone who thought that even if we weren’t doing anything at all, besides being together, that it was enough. In my heart I know that the Lord has blessed Adam & I as a couple with so much so early in life because He trusts us. And not a day goes by that I am not thankful for that.”
