Let me start by introducing Bear to my blog! This is Bear’s first post but there will be many to come. John and I adopted Bear in the beginning of June from the humane society in Champaign. He is an 11 year old puppy (as we like to call him). He is 82 pounds and loves carrots for an afternoon snack. He enjoys laying on his back while making you rub his belly, playing fetch with his orange ball and thinking he’s a lap dog and sitting on top of you. We are so in love with Bear and are so happy to have been able to give him a new home after his previous owner passed away.
As some of you know, John, Bear and I are currently between apartments and are staying at a hotel for the majority of the month of August. When we realized this is what we were going to have to do, we were initially nervous about how Bear would adjust and if he would be able to handle the hotel for that long. If you look through these photos.. you’ll see that he’s not just “handling” but thriving in his new environment. John has decided to spoil him by giving Bear a bed on the floor. He took the mattress off of one of the beds and put it in between the two bed frames.. now Bear basically has a fortress of mattresses and beds to jump back and forth from. He loves the cold air conditioned room and the soft carpet. We also have discovered the large open area behind our hotel that has now become Bear’s play field. We play fetch and run around until Bear gets tired and decides to sit under his favorite tree. Bear has also taken up a new love for the sitcom Friends that we make sure to have on when we leave the hotel room. Needless to say, he’s a pretty spoiled puppy and is loving life in our temporary home.
