As you all know, I’m a big fan of proposal stories. It’s always adorable to see the thought that goes into their planning and how much detail many grooms put into it. And let me just tell you, Cody went above and beyond with Laura’s proposal. As a former University of Illinois football player, Cody decided to incorporate Memorial Stadium into his plan. A couple of weeks prior to getting down on one knee, Cody sent a flyer to their home that was an invitation to an alumni luncheon. Little did Laura know, there was no luncheon what so ever. When they arrived, a staff member at the stadium handed them a go pro asking them to “video the memorial day lunch for a promotion”.
According to Laura, Cody suggested they go for a walk around the stadium before heading upstairs. When they got to the center of the field, Cody positioned the go pro perfectly to record what was about to happen. He had placed flowers and a handwritten love note for Laura. As she finished reading, Cody knelt down on one knee and asked Laura to marry him. Everything was captured on the video and from an additional view further away upstairs. Alone in the center of memorial stadium, Cody and Laura shared a moment they will never forget.
