Salvo and Betsy are a beautiful couple.  Salvo is a longtime friend of Ryan Reid (DJ of Crash Events), a DJ who I work frequently with at weddings.  Ryan had recommended me to Salvo and Betsy after they were engaged and I knew prior to even meeting them that if they were good friends with Ryan that we would get along.  And my intuition was right, after meeting with Betsy to discuss my wedding packages, she made the decision for me to be a part of their wedding day.

For their engagement session, we first met at the UIUC Arboretum.  Shortly after arriving, we had to take a break from photos because Salvo unfortunately got a nose bleed.  Because I have never had one I immediately thought oh no we will have to reschedule and considered it way more of an emergency situation than he did.   Salvo was such a trooper about it and as soon as he got it under control we went right back into photo taking.  Later on in the session when the nose bleed was way past, we all had a pretty good laugh about it and Salvo said he was just trying to give me an opportunity to take photos of the ring!

After the Arboretum, we ventured downtown to take more urban styled photos.  It was fascinating to hear of Salvo’s stories as a kid growing up around downtown because of his grandparent’s store.  Throughout their session, we laughed and talked about all sorts of things.  I loved how comfortable Salvo and Betsy were with each other and how even though they have only been dating for a couple of years, it seemed as though they’ve known each other forever.  I am very excited to be a part of their wedding day and to work with this lovely couple again.
