Sweet Hometown Engagement Session, Dane & Jessica, Mahomet IL
When I think of Dane and Jessica, one phrase comes to mind… “Home is wherever I’m with you”. This pair met, fell in love and currently live in Southern Illinois. Dane proposed in New York City while they were visiting the city for Jessica’s birthday. They recently traveled across the world to Italy and Croatia for a vacation. They decided to take their engagement photos in Mahomet where Jessica grew up. But regardless of where they are, these two seem to be right at home as long as they are with each other.
Dane and Jessica met while she was attending graduate school at Southern Illinois University. They hit it off and began dating soon after meeting. As previously mentioned, Dane proposed while they were in New York City. What I didn’t mention was how adorable his proposal was! Since Jessica was a little girl, her favorite movie has been Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Knowing that, Dane decided to make his proposal extra special and do it in front of the house that was in the movie. Jessica was completely shocked when he got down on one knee and was overwhelmed by how thoughtful his proposal was. (Men, take notes… I mean how cute is that?!)
For Dane and Jessica’s session, we started at her parent’s house in the country. The golden light shined through the trees and made for a magical setting. We stopped by a family friend of Jessica’s home for as well. The family owns Mahomet Landscaping & as you might expect their yard was gorgeous. A rustic stone staircase led to the back patio that overlooked the Sangamon River and the open green field. Their kitty cat followed us around and even managed to sneak into a couple of photos. To end our session, we went to Main St in Mahomet for a dressier, urban look. We ventured around the old buildings and finished our session on the rooftop patio of JT Walker’s. Dane and Jessica looked at home with each other in each of the different settings. This pair gets married next June and I am already excited for their special day.
