University of Illinois Engagement, Mack & Lauren, Champaign IL

I knew the relationship between Mack and Lauren was meant to be when they asked if I could take some of their photos at KAMS. For those of you who aren’t aware, KAMS is the go-to college bar on University of Illinois campus. Although it holds a special place in most alums heart, it is specifically special to Mack. Mack’s family has owned the bar since Mack was around the age of six months old. His father worked there in college and then later became the owner.. probably just in time for Mack to take some of his first steps there!

So back to Mack and Lauren…You may be wondering why taking photos at KAMS was how I knew they were meant to be together… the answer is that Lauren attended Butler University not the U of I therefore KAMS doesn’t hold the same meaning that it does to U of I students. Since falling for Mack, she’s grown to love the bar but it’s fair to say that it may not ever hold the same nostalgic feeling for her that it would for Mack or UIUC alumni. With that being said, I just loved seeing how happy it made Lauren to see Mack so excited taking engagement photos in a place that means so much to him. They posed with KAMS famous “blue guys” and made sure to include the UIUC murals outside in the beer garden.

The remainder of Mack and Lauren’s engagement sessions were also taken around the University of Illinois campus. We explored locations on the quad and also ended at the columns at Memorial Stadium. This location may have been my favorite from their session! Lauren’s dress looked absolutely stunning here and I just can’t get over how beautiful these turned out.

I’m already looking forward to their wedding in May of next year. They’ll be getting married in Lauren’s hometown and including many places that are significant to her. 🙂 But for now, enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session!
