As Jackie made her way out to see her groom, Jordan waited anxiously. His legs bounced steadily up and down. He held his hands together and took a moment to take it all in. Then, Jackie tapped his shoulder and he turned to face his bride.

When I think of an absolutely ideal wedding day, Jordan and Jackie’s will forever come to mind. I don’t usually talk about things like the weather or details, but both of those aspects of their day were perfect. And while those parts of their day definitely contributed, the excitement and mood of all involved was what really made the day.

As soon as my second shooter and I arrived at the salon in the morning, Jackie greeted us with a huge, giddy smile. She was glowing. The same goes for when I saw Jordan in the parking lot with one of his groomsmen at Allerton Park. He smiled and talked about how it was finally their wedding day!

Rather than focusing on typical traditions of weddings, Jordan and Jackie made sure their day was how they wanted it. Jordan’s twin sister stood on his side of the bridal party and Jackie’s brother on hers. Jackie’s father (who just happened to be a judge) was the officiant of their wedding.

There were no official entrances into the reception. Instead of having several events during the reception, their focus was on fun. As soon as the dance floor was open, Jordan and Jackie were the first to start busting a move. I loved seeing them party with all of their friends and family. Jackie’s 90 year old grandparents even joined dancing!
