St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Wedding, Dan & Katherine, Champaign IL

“I have had big moments in my life,” Dan said to the priest as his wedding was about to begin. “I have had game winning shots and other seemingly monumental memories,” he continued. “But nothing, no memory prior to now, compares to what is happening today, today is the greatest of all”.

Just like Dan reflected prior to their ceremony, Katherine recalled how she and Dan made it to this point while waiting. Dan and Katherine first met each other on a bus ride on University of Illinois’ campus. She was exhausted from work and he just couldn’t help himself but try for conversation with her. She laughed thinking back on their interactions and remembers just wanting this person to stop talking to her so she could rest her eyes after the long day she had had.

Nothing came of their initial meeting on the bus but fate would have it that they ran into each other several other times. Each time Dan and Katherine communicated and had good conversation but then went their separate ways. That is until they met once again, only this time.. online!

While it took these two a while to discover the love they had for each other, as soon as they did nothing could stop it. Dan and Katherine are seriously so adorable. The nervousness and excitement each possessed prior to Katherine walking down the aisle was what weddings are all about. The anxious butterflies as each prepared to vow their lives to one another.

As always, I am so happy to have had the opportunity to photograph Dan and Katherine’s day. Right now, they’re soaking up the sun in Hawaii and I couldn’t be happier for them. Here are some of my favorites from their special day.
