Rather than trying to tell Royce and Sarah’s story myself, I wanted to share with you all what Sarah sent to me when she first inquired about her wedding photography.

“I had always known who Royce was but officially met him when I volunteered to decorate his locker for homecoming (as a cheerleader we decorated the football players lockers for homecoming week — ahh high school). We quickly developed crushes on each other and started dating that same fall. I had never met someone who I connected with so deeply. My heart instantly felt close to his. He was the type of person, you knew you could make an actual life with.

I think this feeling is so rare but especially at 16, I knew I had found someone special. Fast forward to college, we both went to U of I and our love grew stronger. After college we landed in Chicago and moved in with each other in early 2017. I love looking back on how we started dating and how we’ve grown together. We’ve gone through so many life changes together and they have only made us stronger.”

The part in her story that stands out to me is, “my heart instantly felt close to his”.

Just hearing her say that, looking at these photos, seeing these two interact… it makes my heart happy!
