He was the football player and she was the cheerleader.

Their story begins on a Friday afternoon, October 9, 2009 to be exact.

After 7th period, Dan and Alexa were walking in the hall talking about what they were going to do after the football game. Dan in his football jersey, Alexa in her cheerleading warmup. As they walked, Dan asked Alexa to be his girlfriend.

Flash forward to January 11, 2019.

Dan brought Alexa back to the garden next to their high school football field. The same garden he brought her to in 2009 when he told her he could see himself being with her for a long time after high school.

Much like the first time at the garden, Dan told Alexa he could see himself with her for many years, forever actually. With romantic lights spread throughout the garden and music playing in the background; Dan asked Alexa to marry him.

Afterwards, Dan and Alexa continued the celebration with an engagement party with many of their friends and family. When recalling the day, Alexa beamed and said, ‘it was the best day of my life (so far!)… I am extremely lucky”.
