There are several reasons why I couldn’t wait for this photo session. To begin, Kate is one of my best friends and has been since we were locker buddies in the seventh grade. Going off of that, I couldn’t be happier for her to have found the love of her life, Chris. And then obviously, to take pictures in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park!

Chris and Kate have always shared the love for travel and adventure. Kate, a geography major, is obsessed with globes & maps. Chris, a lover of learning, gets such a high from finding new places and exploring. So when the opportunity to move to Colorado presented itself to them, neither could resist. These two moved across the country from Naperville, IL just a few weeks ago with their two kitty cats and a new adventure that awaited them.

After deciding they were going to take the leap of faith and move, Chris and Kate took a short trip out to Denver to apartment hunt. Once they found their ideal home, they celebrated by going for an afternoon hike. While hiking, Chris surprised Kate by getting down on one knee and proposing. It’s no secret that Kate said yes and became even more excited to begin their new chapter in Denver as soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs.

As soon as they got engaged, Kate and I instantly started planning my trip out here for their photos. During their session, we experienced pretty much all four seasons of weather! When we began their photos up at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, we were in the middle of a snow tundra. It was windy, snowy and freezing. We were truly in an unexpected Winter Wonderland. To give you an idea of how unexpected the weather was, Kate was wearing wedge sandals. After freezing for beautiful snow photos, we traveled around throughout the park basking in sunshine and areas with no snow at all! It was a crazy experience but one I will never forget. I am overjoyed to share these images, Enjoy!
