There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as Catherine read Cullen’s note out loud. Their favorite show is How I Met Your Mother so what a better way to show your feelings than to incorporate some of the best love quotes from the sitcom. He quoted favorites from each character and somehow found a way to make each one personal to them. In his note, he also talked about the time at a friend’s wedding when he knew he wanted to marry Catherine. It was one of those ah-ha moments that he could never forget.

Cullen and Cat go way further back than their actual dating relationship. They met in algebra class and became good friends. While in high school, Cullen knew he had more than a friendship with Cat way before she did. In fact, he asked her to prom but she turned him down. On the morning of her wedding day, she recalled that time in high school and rolled her eyes at the thought of her younger self turning him down. If only then she’d known that he was the person she’d spend forever with.

It may have taken several years for Cullen and Catherine to realize they were meant for each other but as soon as they did nothing could stop them. During difficult jobs, distance and several states, Cullen and Cat remained as inseparable as they could be. They made it through weeks of not seeing each other and only valued their time together more when they saw one another.

It wasn’t long after they began a dating relationship that Cullen asked Cat to marry him. Their wedding took place at Willow Creek Farms. This venue is near and dear to Catherine as she grew up around the Lipp residence. It was an absolutely perfect fall day and I am thrilled to share some of my favorites from Cullen and Cat’s!
