In my experience as a wedding photographer, I have met very few couples that share the amount of passion for each other that Erik and Kelsey do. The amount of excitement, chemistry, compassion shared between these two is incredible. Erik and Kelsey began dating nine years ago on St. Patrick’s Day. Through the nine years, they enjoyed college together, struggled through long distance, traveled together and experienced all aspects of life together. Their wedding day was the first time I had ever been with them together and they were just as giddy as two teenagers who had just confessed crushes on one another.
Most weddings, I always have a moment or part of the day that sticks with me long after it is over. For Erik and Kelsey, it was during their ceremony. One of Erik’s close friends was their officiant and did a wonderful job making their wedding personal. When he asked Erik and Kelsey to get closer together, hold hands and say their vows… Erik couldn’t help himself and instantly went in to give Kelsey a big kiss. Kelsey laughed and stepped back as you aren’t supposed to kiss during the ceremony until instructed to.
That little quirky moment during the ceremony was so representative of Erik and Kelsey’s wedding day. Erik was completely smitten by Kelsey. He gave her kisses on the forehead, cheek, shoulder, etc. anytime he could. He mouthed ‘I love you’ to her anytime their eyes met. And the same goes for Kelsey. Kelsey grabbed Erik’s hand whenever they were walking. She fought back happy tears as she read his note to her in the morning. Kelsey’s smile when Erik was with her was always a little brighter.
Erik and Kelsey had the perfect wedding day. They were able to celebrate their favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s day, with their closest family and friends. Nine years after they became a couple, they made their dating anniversary their wedding anniversary. If it’s not already clear, I adore Erik and Kelsey. I love their relationship and how their love for each other glows. Their wedding was absolutely wonderful and I am so excited to share it with you all!
