It took three years for Jeff and Rachel to realize that maybe they were meant to be more than friends. They met at the University of Illinois in class. Jeff and Rachel were friends throughout their class together and remained acquaintances afterwards. After graduating, they both went their separate ways both pursuing their own dreams. While Rachel was attending medical school at Southern Illinois University, Jeff finally convinced her to let him come visit.
Well.. after that visit their friendship became much more than that. Jeff and Rachel continued their relationship long distance while both attending schools in different cities however they knew that what they had found together was well worth it. Flash forward to two and a half years in their relationship when they were finally living in the same city.. this time in Austin, TX. Jeff decided to take Rachel on an “Austin Bucket List” day date. They adventured around the city to cute must see spots in Austin like the mural, “I love you so much”. Rachel had a sneaking suspicion that maybe this wasn’t just a date but maybe Jeff had plans to propose to her.
Jeff and Rachel’s day date was amazing however after hopping around to several spots Rachel thought maybe she was wrong about Jeff proposing. At the end of their day, they returned home and Rachel had pretty much forgotten about her suspicion. It was then that Jeff gave Rachel the ultimate surprise and got down on one knee in their home. He asked Rachel to marry him after their perfect day spent in Austin. It was so intimate and personal and meant more than anything in the world to Rachel.
Since they met in school at UIUC, it was only fitting that we had a University of Illinois engagement session!
