Chicago Gaelic Park Wedding, Brendan & Carlie, Oak Forest IL

“Do you remember the 21st night of September…” sang all of Carlie’s bridesmaids as they danced around, getting ready and drinking mimosas. It was Friday September 21st and it was Brendan and Carlie’s wedding day. The energy in Carlie’s moms house was contagious as all of the girls were giddy with excitement.

Seven of the bridesmaids were extremely excited not only to be a part of Brendan and Carlie’s wedding day but also to gain a sister. Yes, you read that right.. seven of the bridesmaids were Brendan’s sisters. In addition to his seven sisters, Brendan also had two brothers standing on his side. Brendan is the oldest of the ten children and the first to get married. Growing up with only one sister, I just couldn’t get over how crazy and fun their childhood must have been all together.

With all thirteen siblings (9 of Brendan’s and 4 of Carlie’s) plus several other friends in their bridal party, they had one crazy group. I loved seeing how close Brendan and Carlie were to everyone that was a part of their day and also love how much these photos reflect their relationships.

While majority of their day was filled with crazy, fun energy.. Brendan seeing Carlie walk down the aisle is what really stands out to me. In this moment, there was no one else in the world but Brendan seeing Carlie walking towards him with her father. Tears streamed down his face as he tried to hold them back. Carlie’s father embraced him with a huge hug as he gave away his daughter. Later, during speeches, her father talked about his relationship with Brendan and how he has gained not only a son but also a best friend.

What I loved most about Brendan and Carlie’s wedding day was family. Family relationships were strong and present throughout their entire day. Brendan and Carlie, I am so happy you two are officially ‘family’ as husband and wife. Thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding day!
