Glowing Sunset Engagement at Ault Park, Scott & Meredith, Cincinnati OH

Nervous eighteen year olds sporting our Gameday Spirit Illinois shirts and lanyards… Meredith and I were just two in the group in Bromley Hall. We lived next door to each other on the twelfth floor. Over the first couple of months, our hallway quickly became a little unit. Eating dinner together, having movie nights and spying on our floor advisor. As we continued college and moved out of the dorm, our little unit became more divided but always happy to see each other.

During our junior year at the University of Illinois, Meredith happened to meet someone who would eventually come to be her fiance. Scott and Meredith were introduced through a mutual friend and instantly couldn’t get enough of each other. They spent the remainder of their college experience doing everything together and falling in love. After college, Scott spent a year in Los Angeles, CA where Meredith went to visit as much as she could. Although there were perks to the California life, Scott relocated to Philly where Meredith decided to join him no longer wanting to be away from him. They now live in Cincinnati and are enjoying their time there together exploring their new city.

I can’t express how much I enjoyed photographing Scott and Meredith. Meredith has always had the prettiest smile and it sparkles even more now that she’s with Scott. I could just tell how much they love each other as I photographed them under the glowing sunset light. They joked around and giggled with each other even when I wasn’t ‘directing’ them to do. They told the story of how they met and how Meredith pointed Scott out in a picture after thinking he was so cute. After their session, we went to Bru a burger place downtown. We reminisced about times at the University of Illinois and talked about how much our lives have changed since. It was a wonderful evening and I cannot wait until their wedding. Is it May yet?
