While most Friday Feels blog posts have a couple of different topics… this one is just Friday Feels ft. Fluff! If you watched my Instagram story yesterday… you may have seen an exciting announcement! If not, here it is! John and I have adopted a new dog. Her name is Fluff. She is around seven years old (we think) and is an Alaskan Malamute.
Despite what her absolutely adorable and loving face, Fluff hasn’t had the best past. She currently weighs 48.3lbs which is actually 5lbs more than she weighed when she was rescued (note, she should weigh around 70lbs). Her coat had to be shaved because of the matting & the poor state it was in. The conclusion from her appearance and severe malnutrition is that the poor girl was living in a crate with little to no food or relief. As soon as John and I heard her story and met her, we knew that we were invested and wanted her to be ours.
Since Bear’s passing, we weren’t really sure when we would feel “ready” for another dog. Bear was a very special dog and one that we didn’t feel we could replace in any capacity. However, when we met her we knew that he must have had something to do with it. I’m a believer in fate and things happening for a reason. John and I both know that Bear sent Fluff to us. He knew we were struggling without him and he also knew that she needed us.
But enough of the sad stuff.. since bringing Fluff home this past Sunday, she has brought us so much happiness! She is such a sweetheart and loves having her face and ears pet. She’s a diva when it comes to food so we are currently making her an egg each morning with her breakfast. She hasn’t quite figured out what to do with toys but is started to take an interest in them. Fluff loves walks around the block and also enjoys squirrel watching out of the office window like Bear used to.
John and I are already so IN LOVE with her. So get prepared because although this is the first blog post about Fluff… it certainly won’t be the last! 🙂
Ahhhhh Ebby I love this so much!!!!!
