What an incredible week! From shooting a wedding in Arizona to attending Showit United photography conference… it’s been a great one. It was just what I needed to finish out the fall season. Overall, I am so grateful for the old and new friends I connected with this past week and am just feeling very thankful for this crazy life of mine. Hence, the more emotional Friday Feels this week!
A Must Read Book.
I could write an entire blog post about this book… I actually considered doing so I loved it so much. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is so much more than just a bold title. It is written in a hilarious way that makes it extremely easy to read while being crazy insightful.
I originally borrowed the book from my sister who read it earlier this year. After getting a couple pages in, I started writing, highlighting, underlining, etc. all over the pages. I quickly realized that this would be a book I would want to keep. When I finished it, I told Audrey a new copy would be headed her way because I could never part ways with this incredible book. If you’re curious about it or have read it and want to chat more… please reach out! To summarize how I feel, this book was life-changing (cheesy I know…but I’m serious).
Beauty in the Darkness.
This past week, I had the opportunity to work along side the crazy talented photographer, David Mendoza. He led myself along with around 25 other photographers in a nighttime portrait shoot. David introduced himself prior to and shared a little bit about himself. The why behind what he does was extremely inspirational. I don’t know if it was the way he started the shoot or the images that I ended up with but somehow I’ve found a new love within photography.
Showit United.
In previous posts, I’ve talked about the photography community. In recent years, I’ve made it a priority to become more involved and connected with others in my industry. I have attended Creative at Heart, The Reset Conference and Showit United twice. Because I work from home and am typically alone when working, these conferences and opportunities to connect with others is so meaningful. This past week, I spent three days in Tempe, AZ at Showit United 2017. I have pages and pages in notes from all of the speakers and sessions I attended. As a result of everything I learned at United, my head is going crazy with everything I learned and want to do! For fellow photographers.. attend conferences!!
