As soon as I found out one of my best friend’s Kate was moving to Colorado, I instantly started thinking about when I would visit. Then, to make things even more exciting, Kate got engaged! So on top of planning a trip to visit her, I also started daydreaming about photographing her and her hubby-to-be out in the mountains.
With wedding season right around the corner, I knew that coordinating a trip out to Denver could be potentially difficult. Luckily, I found a super cheap flight on a whim and booked my trip!
While my trip to visit only lasted two days, I had an absolute blast exploring and spending time with Kate! My first day in Colorado, we headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park for Chris & Kate’s engagement photos. It was stunning and I seriously could’ve stayed there from sun up to sun down taking pictures.
My second and last day in Colorado was spent in Denver. Kate and Chris both had to work so I coffee shop hopped and had a delightful time pretending like I was a Denver native. I even took a risk while in one of the coffee shops and asked a cute couple nearby if I could snap a couple of pics of them. I am SO happy I did because the images turned out to be some of my favorites.
To conclude my trip, we ventured out into downtown Denver on a mission for a cute Mexican restaurant. If you know me, you know Mexican food is at the top of my list. We found an awesome new place called Kachina Southwestern Grill. I would recommend it to anyone in the Denver area! After eating way too many chips & guac, we went over to View House bar and had some drinks outside cozied up by a fire. Our last stop of the night was to 1 Up, an arcade bar. It was seriously so much fun to drink beer, get quarters and play pin ball and other old video games. Overall, it was a great quick trip and I already can’t wait to get back to Denver again soon!
