It was at Jackson Square in New Orleans. They were standing no the platform with the best view of the St. Louis Cathedral and the Jackson statue. Greg and Dominique had just stopped by Cafe du Monde to grab a few signature beignets to begin their weekend in the historic city.
Greg had made sure to be on Dominique’s left side all morning to avoid her seeing or feeling the ring box in his pocket. Dominque was so excited to be in New Orleans she hadn’t noticed Greg’s movements or nervous behaviors all morning.
As they stood taking in the beautiful view of Jackson Square, Greg asked the only nearby person, an older man, to take a ‘photo’ of the two of them together. He subtly mentioned he was going to propose to the old man and set up the phone to record a video.
When he walked back up to Dominique to ‘pose for a photo’, Greg got down on one knee and proposed. She obviously said YES! and they spent their remaining time in New Orleans celebrating their engagement together.
